Community Service Projects
The club is strongly invested with a number of public service projects during the course of the year. It is an effort to give back to the community in which we meet and display. A way to say Thank You to the community.

The Wall
The traveling Vietnam wall made it's first tour post Covid including a stop in New Bern. CPC was asked to provide photographers to cover the event. |

MS Bike Ride
While not fielding a club team to ride, we do contribute in our own special way by providing photographs of the individual teams and "on the road" photos of the fund raising event. |

Veterans Stand-Down
Annually New Bern hosts a Veterans Stand-Down event. The free event brings veterans, their families, as well as, caregivers, and active duty personnel form Craven, Carteret, Jones, and Pamlico counties together under one roof to learn about services available from more than 50 organizations. Food, haircuts, hygiene kits, job assistance and much more is available for those who have served our country. For the past few years we have been asked to show our support by sending a couple photographers to capture the event and provide photos for use on social media and to promote future events. |

New Bern Resolves
This is an annual celebration spearheaded by the New Bern Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). The Objects of this Society are declared to be patriotic, historical, and educational; to unite and promote fellowship among the descendants of those who sacrificed to achieve the independence of the American people, to inspire them and the community at large with a more profound reverence for the principles of the government founded by our forefathers; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom. Other supporting organizations include the DAR Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter, the North Carolina History Center and Tryon Palace Historic Site, St. Johns Masonic Lodge #3, the National Sojourners, Valley of New Bern Scottish Rite, and New Bern York Rite share in the ceremony of remembrance for the 71 Delegates and Resolves of America’s First Provincial Congress held in New Bern during 25-27 August 1774. CPC members offer their help in documenting the annual parade, speakers and organizations through photographs to be used in the educational purposes of these organizations. |

CROP Hunger Walk
CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events held in cities and towns across the United States, created to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised is returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts. Religious Community Services is our local host and we enjoy documenting the day's activities in Union Point Park and through downtown New Bern for their memory keeping and marketing purposes. |

New Bern Golf Fundraiser
CPC provides photographers to capture images of guest speakers, attendees, participants, sponsors and fun throughout the day at each of these annual events at the Emerald and Harbor Point golf clubs through the work of the Ladies Golf Associations with River Bend participating at Harbor Point as well. The Folds of Honor Foundation: This 501(c)(3) charitable organization, has carried forth a singular, noble mission: To provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. The Foundation has recently expanded its mission to first responders, including police, fire, EMTs and paramedics. Journey of Hope Foundation: All proceeds from this tournament are donated to Journey of Hope, an integral part of The CarolinaEast Foundation. Donations aid in providing help to many cancer patients, their families and caretakers in many ways. Tryon Civitans: Its members work hard to support nonprofits in our community through fundraisers, various projects as well as volunteering. Some of those organizations are Craven County Special Olympics, First Tee, Promise Place, Merci Clinic, Coastal Women's Shelter, and Twin Rivers YMCA. |

New Bern Civitans SANTALAND
The New Bern Civitan Club provides its members with numerous opportunities to contribute to our community, state, and nation through a variety of hands-on service projects and through financial contributions from our fundraising. This annual service project hosts pictures with Santa for the underprivileged pre-school and K children of Craven County. CPC provides the photos during the event to be distributed by Civitan volunteers during the Santa visit throughout a whole week in December. |
