Assisted Living Shoots
Each year we do several portrait sessions in local assisted living facilities. This project serves two purposes, it is a way for families to get a professional quality portrait of a loved one in their waning year, sadly it's sometimes the last photo taken of a friend or relative. It also serves to let club members hone and polish their portrait photography skills.

During a 31 year career with IBM I lived (in Paris) and traveled a lot outside the U.S. (Far East, Australia/New Zealand, Central and South America, etc.). On my first trip to Japan I immediately bought a Nikon F2 and a couple lenses at the airport upon arrival and have been shooting with Nikon cameras ever since (currently with a Nikon D810 and D7100). These days I spend most of my time shooting homes for real estate listings, as well as work a few other commercial clients. As you'll see in my portfolio I also do a fair amount of portrait photography, and drone shoots, but the most FUN work I do is with our two theater groups here in New Bern, Rivertowne Players and our local Civic Theatre. I shoot most of their dress rehearsals, from the balcony, using a Tamron f/2.8 v.c. 70-200mm zoom lens. Coupled with the D810 it allows me to capture some fun photos which the actors love seeing. It's a rewarding way to spend an evening!
